We can work together. You can find relief, gain peace of mind, and improve your relationships.

I have been providing therapy since 2008, and have experience helping individuals, couples, families, and children as young as 3. Therapy is a confidential place to explore and improve life’s overwhelming challenges. I can’t make changes for you. I can help you figure out what you want to change and how to do so in a way that works for you.

My Background

I spent most of my career working in community mental health centers, where I provided therapy to individuals with a wide variety of problems, including anxiety, PTSD, depression, bi-polar disorder, grief, OCD, chronic pain, and borderline personality disorder. I see mostly adults but also enjoy working with young children and their parents, particularly families that are struggling with tantrums and defiant behavior. I started this private practice in 2019 in order to provide convenient and flexible appointments to clients and take good care of myself.

I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina and received training at Marshall I. Pickens Behavioral Health Hospital in my home town of Greenville, South Carolina. In 2013, I moved to the mountains of East Tennessee seeking the benefits of living in a small town surrounded by nature’s beauty. I find great pleasure in the garden, on a hiking trail, or paddling down the river, but I still enjoy going to the city for art, music, and new food.

My Approach & Philosophy

Rapport is defined as a harmonious relationship in which people are in sync with each other, understand each other, and communicate smoothly. The rapport between client and therapist is consistently found to be the most important factor in producing successful outcomes. My goal is to provide a place where you feel listened to, respected, validated, and trusted. That doesn’t mean that I won’t ask hard questions or challenge the way you are thinking. I will. That is how solutions are found. I also teach techniques that help you feel calmer, lower the intensity of unpleasant emotions, and communicate clearly.
